About

Zoe grew up in Belvidere, Illinois, where she studied with Jacques Saint Cyr at the Music Academy of Rockford for 6 years. She now studies flute performance at New York University on a Steinhardt Scholarship with Soo Kyung-Park.

Zoe most recently won 1st place in the New York University 2025/26 Concerto Competition, and will be performing with the orchestra this fall. She previously got 1st place in the Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra 2021/22 Concerto Competition, and received 1st and 3rd place awards from the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center’s Chandler Starr Miller Scholarship Competition, earlier performing in their “Young Musicians Series”. Her performance of the Mozart Concerto in D Major was broadcast on WNIU(2022). Zoe was the featured soloist in the Rockford Concert Band’s “Hometown Harmonies” concert in 2024.

Zoe was selected to play in both the ILMEA District and All-State honors ensembles for 3 years in a row and performed in the Rockford Wind Ensemble Honor Band. She earned six division-one ratings between the IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contests and was named an alternate for the NAFME All-National Honor Band. At NYU, Zoe performs in the Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Broadway Orchestra, and Recording Ensemble (The Journey, Lenny White).

Zoe takes pride in her community involvement. She has enjoyed soloing with the Measure Five Student Orchestra, performing at the Anderson Japanese Gardens, teaching private lessons, playing in the Starlight Theater pit orchestra, and managing/co-founding the Fifth Inversion String Quartet. Zoe has worked for the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, the Music Academy of Rockford, the Rockford Area Arts Council, and the Boone County Arts Council. She is the lead camp coordinator for the RAAC Somnium Camp, and the Music Academy of Rockford Summer Chamber Music Camp. She most recently wrote a grant to start the new Wind Instrument Chamber Music Camp back home, which will launch this summer.
